…Ajibola urges TETFUND to pattern funding of private universities as operational in developed nations.
In celebration of “20 years of breeding upright archivers”, Crescent University has recorded success, positive development, and fulfilment in serving God and humanity.
The affirmation came from the proprietor, Prince Mahruf Adesegun Ajibola, SAN, at a press briefing signalling the plan to roll out celebration programme package to be released by the University.
Recalling the feats accomplished overtime by alumni of Crescent University as envisioned by the renowned World Court Jurist and Founder, Prince Bola Ajibola; Adesegun Ajibola, SAN said the University has produced world class students in Accounting, Law, Mass Communication and other professional courses.
Corroborating the academic achievement of Rafiat Gawat, a first class student who replicated similar feat at Robert Gordon University Aberdeen Scotland at masters level with further scholarly feat, thus stamping her world class status in Forensic Accounting again at University of Portsmouth, United kingdom as evidence of quality academic teaching in CUAB, he attributed that such pedigree of academic success to numerous quality offers of appointments extended to alumni of the Institution at British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and other multinationals worldwide.
In view of the growing capacity as witnessed in students’ enrolment, modern and state of the art infrastructures are currently being sponsored by donors, philanthropists, and organisations. In recent times, BUA group was instrumental to the Foundation laying of the Medical Laboratory Building donated by Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiatives, Kensington Adebutu donated Library building, Alhaji Aliko Dangote-Hall of residences, Late Remi Olowude ICT building amongst others.
The CBT centre soon will admit students desirous of pursuing courses in Software engineering and cyber security.
The University is currently enjoying 100 percent accreditation of all courses run by it, and has also scored another feat with students
who sat for Nursing examinations becoming Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives.
Interfacing with the media, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila decried the rate at which Nigeria is losing some of her experts through brain drain. He posited that governments should provide an enabling environment for professionals, institutions and individuals to enable them compete favourable internationally.
Professor Gbajabiamila, expressed that for as long as educational institutions are regarded as businesses, the burden currently being experienced by private university will not engender positive development of our educational system.
In the same vein, he intoned that for as long as any nation or government could not effectively tackle issues bordering on pandemic, viruses and antibiotics resistances, quality life of citizens cannot be quarrateed.
As part of their expansion programme, Artificial Intelligence course had been introduced in the Law Faculty of the University.
Earlier in the week, a special prayer was held by the University community towards the coming celebration of “20 years of breeding upright archivers”
Also speaking at the press briefing was the University Registrar, Mr. Zakariyyah Ajibola who on behalf of the Board of Trustees acknowledged the supportive roles played to advance the cause of creating a world class institution in Crescent University. He nonetheless, called for more support materially, technically and infrastructure wise.
The media parley was attended by Deans of colleges, HOD Mass Communication and others.
