Ogun State is preparing to host the biggest sports event in Africa, outside the All-Africa Games, in two weeks time.
The history of the National Sports Festival is a pot pouri of ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’.
Ogun State hosted the event in 2006, one of the most memorable in the terms of its social, economic and cultural spectacle, but not so, its sports impact.
What will be different this time? How ready is the state with two weeks to go? What should the world expect of the 22nd edition from a State that is super rich in its history, culture, education, traditions, geography, arts, institutions, and human capital?
I shall be joined this Saturday morning on Eagle7 Sports Radio 103.7FM, from 7:30am, by the man holding forth for the Governor of the State, the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasiu Isiaka.
