The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde has promised to make FUNAAB one of the top five universities in Nigeria and top 100 in Africa in the next five years.
The newly invested seventh (7th) substantive Vice Chancellor who stated this in his inaugural speech said he would build a 21st century University that will usher an era of fullness and actualisation of past dreams.



He unveiled a plan of action with the acronym FUNAAB with F standing for “Focused leadership and Efficient Administrative Machinery” and U representing “Unique Fund Generation and Resource Management”.
The N in the acronym stands for “Networking for effective linkage” while A stands for ” Academic Renaissance and Quality Research” and the other A represents “Active Promotion of Staff and Students Welfare” and B stands for “Broad- based infrastructural Development.
Professor Kehinde asked for support to achieve all the espoused visions and promised to run his administration with the fear of God concluding “FUNAAB is ours to plough and not to plunder”
The Investiture ceremony which was declared open by the Pro-Chancellor, Alhaji Umar Ahmed (CAN) was witnessed by the principal officers and the University community.
The event also attracted the presence of high profile and distinguished Royal Fathers amongst whom are the Alake of Egbaland , His Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Osile Oke Ona Egba His Highness Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, the Agura of Gbagura, His Highness Oba Sabur Bakre and the Olowu of Owu, His Highness Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola amongst others.
In recognition of the laudable contribution of the immediate past Vice Chancellor FUNAAB, Prof Felix Kolawole SALAKO, FSSSN, FASN was honoured at the luncheon event which hosted friends of the University and the University community.
It was a parade of who is who in the society.
